about

By the time I got around to recording my debut studio album at the ripe ole age of 30, I had a lot of songs. I admit now 17 years later the album was too long. I just had so much I wanted to say and it felt like I had waited forever and it was hard to edit myself. You can only fit so many minutes onto a compact disc though.

Originally we had stopped, and then I brought in another batch to my producer Eric Fritsch and we debated doing a double cd. Instead we made one long LP and stopped. I thought about doing a part two, but honestly I wanted to move on say different things musically and lyrically so that was that.

Many songs ended up on other albums I had considered, and some I discarded. There are other songs I wrote over time that would have fit thematically on Last Call just fine, but I still think I will save for a future album. However, these songs on this Part II for subscribers will likely never see the light of day. I still like some of these songs and maybe I will find a place for some of them someday. Till then, I thought I would share something from back in the day.
