about

Recorded live at the prestigious Take Root Festival in Groningen, The Netherlands on October 6th, 2007 on Simmons' second European Tour. He is accompanied by Alex McCollough on pedal steel guitar.

Rounder Europe Records released Simmons' SOMETHING IN BETWEEN album (released in USA in early 2008) to European audiences in the Fall of 2007 and this Festival Performance was part of that tour that took him from The Netherlands, to Belgium and The United Kingdom to promote it's release. Rounder Europe had released DRINK RING JESUS in the Spring of 2007 as well as re-released Simmons' LAST CALL (2004 USA release), thus the majority of the songs from this live show are from those first three Simmons' albums (plus the then unreleased 'Asheville Girl' & "Hadley's Bend' that later appeared on studio albums GIRLS & THE BIG SHOW).

Simmons is accompanied by sideman, Alex McCollough on pedal steel guitar.
